Designing the Brand Identity That Took Zane from Pitch to Funded

Zane came to me with just a single logo and a founder who could sell the vision in conversation, but they lacked a full brand identity and a website that could deliver that same impact online. They needed a way to make their story clear, compelling, and credible to both Gen Z users and potential investors. My role was to create a bold visual direction, craft outcome-driven messaging, and design a conversion-focused website that stood apart from the safe, predictable style of their competitors. The goal was to give Zane the brand presence and digital experience needed to secure funding, attract strategic partnerships, and connect with the next generation of users.

Breaking the Mould in Fintech Branding

I developed a brand identity that intentionally broke away from the safe, predictable aesthetics of the financial sector. The colour palette was unconventional for the industry, chosen to immediately stand out in a crowded market and appeal to a younger audience. The typography was chosen for its modern, digital flare, giving the brand a contemporary edge while keeping it clean and readable. Art direction leaned into a next-generation look and feel, combining clean layouts with a vibrant, high-energy tone. I introduced a modern iconography style to keep information clear and approachable, and created a custom pattern made from global currency symbols as a subtle nod to the product’s financial focus. Together, these elements formed a distinctive visual language that feels both forward-thinking and relatable, setting Zane apart from competitors while resonating with its Gen Z audience.
